Two free printables to help you mark Remembrance Day this November.

The wordsearch introduces six key Remembrance words. The words run across and down only, so younger children can usually find them on their own, and it's a good way to start conversations about what each word means.

The “Lest We Forget” colouring page shows a First World War soldier and nurse framed by a wreath of poppies. It's lovely to have on the table while you talk about why people wear a poppy, or after a visit to your local war memorial, and it suits children of any primary age.

What's included (2 pages)

  • Wordsearch

Six key Remembrance words, running across and down only so younger children can manage it independently.

  • “Lest We Forget” colouring page

A First World War soldier and nurse framed by a wreath of poppies.

How to use it

Print both pages and have them on the table while you talk about why people wear a poppy, or after a visit to your local war memorial. The wordsearch works well as a way into conversations about what each word means.

Want to teach Remembrance Day this year?

These two pages are taken from much bigger packs that do the teaching for you. Each one starts with a clear, illustrated fact file written by an experienced primary teacher, then gives your child activities that build real understanding, not just something to colour in. You don't need to research anything or plan a lesson. Print, read it together and go.
