Stage 4 is where English spelling gets tricky: one sound can be written in several ways, and one spelling can make more than one sound. These 26 worksheets take each new spelling one at a time, so your child learns which one to use rather than guessing.

Most sheets ask children to choose between spellings, sort words by sound or match words to pictures. That gives them lots of practice at listening carefully and looking closely at how a word is written.
